Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In which year was "Super Smash Bros." released?

Answer: 1999

This game was followed by the very successful "Super Smash Bros. Melee" for the Nintendo GameCube. "Super Smash Bros." is sometimes referred to as "Super Smash Bros. 64" (or simply "Smash Bros. 64") to distinguish it from the other games in the series.
2. How many characters are there to play as, altogether?

Answer: Twelve

Some of these characters are Mario, Samus, Kirby and Pikachu, who also starred in the second "Super Smash Bros." game on the Gamecube. Each of the "Super Smash Bros." characters were taken from games on the Nintendo that had already been released.
3. Which character's Primary Weapon is a sword?

Answer: Link

Link's sword is called the Master Sword. He uses this sword through most of the game series, "Legend of Zelda".
4. What are the names of the secret characters?

Answer: Ness, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon

Each of these characters can be unlocked by doing certain mission or challenges to battle them. If you win the battle then you win the character to play as.
5. Which game, which starred a locked character, was on the Super Famicom?

Answer: "Earthbound"

"EarthBound" is a sequel to the original "Mother", a Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Entertainment System title released only in Japan. "Mother" and "EarthBound" are not directly connected. One of the only connections plotwise between the two is Giygas, the primary antagonist in both games, who was also significantly changed between the first and second games.
6. Which game, which starred a locked character, was a space racing type?

Answer: "F-Zero"

The "F-Zero" gameplay concept consists of high-speed racing at speeds that can exceed 2000 km/h. The series has been known for its unique characters and settings, difficult gameplay, stirring original music and pushing the limits of its technology to be one of the fastest racing games ever.
7. Who is the Final Boss on Story Mode?

Answer: Master Hand

Master Hand is a giant white glove, similar to those that Mario wears. It is a right-hand glove, and it moves about by floating.

In "Super Smash Bros.", Master Hand was the one that gave life to the dolls (trophies in Melee), which in turn are the playable characters. It also created everything else for "Super Smash Bros."
8. Which stage is from the "Legend of Zelda" series?

Answer: Hyrule Castle

The castle's first appearance was in the game "A Link to the Past", the third in the series. Each game that contains a Hyrule Castle either features a different layout, or denies the player access to parts that are available in other games. There are grounds for speculation that the castle is actually a different castle in each game, or that it is the same castle but was changed in each game for aesthetic or gameplay purposes.
9. What is the name of Samus' stage?

Answer: Planet Zebes

Zebes is a planet located in the same star system as Oormine II, Twin Tabula, Bilium, and Tallon IV. According to the "Metroid" comic, it is the second planet from the sun, and has the designation of FS-176. Its name is sometimes spelled Zebeth due to ambiguous transliteration.
10. Which stage is home to Pikachu?

Answer: Saffron City

Two Gyms exist in Saffron City. One is the official "Pokémon" League Gym, a group of Psychic trainers led by Sabrina, the gym leader. Next to it stands the Fighting Dojo, an unofficial gym made up of Fighting trainers. City residents say that the Fighting Dojo was once an official League Gym, but lost its status to the rival.
