Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Solaire of Astora is iconic, with a memorable questline and series of dialogues where he happily aids the player significantly. In particular, Solaire was the most frequently available NPC summon option for a fight. Which fight of the following can he help the player with?

Answer: Gwyn, Lord of Cinder

If the player finished Solaire's questline with a positive ending, he will be available to support them in the game's final boss. Other than this, he can also help out against the Gaping Dragon, Bell Gargoyles, Dragonslayer Ornstein & Executioner Smough and Centipede Demon.

It should be noted that the player will need to do extensive work under the Chaos Servant covenant in order to properly complete Solaire's questline, as they'll need to level up this covenant to +2 before entering Lost Izalith. If they even so much as step foot in Lost Izalith before doing so, Solaire's questline will be locked off from a good ending.
2. Roughly halfway through the game, a character will urge the player to venture into Anor Londo and retrieve the Lordvessel. This character and his guidance will be integral to finishing the game. What character does this?

Answer: Kingseeker Frampt

Once both Bells of Awakening are rung, Frampt will arrive at the Firelink Shrine. Once greeted, he will inform the player that they are indeed the Chosen Undead responsible for linking the First Flame. In order to retrieve the Lordvessel, the player must now travel to and through Sen's Fortress, head to Anor Londo and then enter the Princess' Chambers after defeating Ornstein and Smough. Once there, interacting with Gwyneviere will prompt her to give the player the Lordvessel.
3. There is one lone Firekeeper at the Firelink Shrine. About halfway through the game, she will abruptly end up getting murdered and nobody will know who committed this atrocity. A perceptive player may notice that there's one regular passerby who seems to not loiter the area anymore- this man committed the killing. Who did it?

Answer: Knight Lautrec of Carim

Lautrec, the man wearing entirely gold armor, killed the Firelink Shrine Firekeeper, disabling the area's bonfire in the process. It is never known what his motivations were for doing this, but when the player confronts him, he implies that it had something to do with payment of some kind; whether someone hired him to do the deed or he wanted to pilfer some kind of riches off of the Firekeeper is unknown.
4. In order to avenge the slain Firelink Shrine Firekeeper, the player will need to pursue her assassin to a particular area, then use the Black Eye Orb to track down and invade their world with the purpose of killing them. What area must the player venture to?

Answer: Anor Londo

Specifically, the player must reach the cathedral in Anor Londo. In the hallway right before the boss room for Ornstein and Smough, the game will inform the player that the "Black Eye Orb is quivering" once they reach the right spot. Upon using the Black Eye Orb here, the player will be whisked away and teleported into Lautrec of Carim's world.

The player will have their Estus Flask capacity set to 2 and will have to kill Lautrec to successfully avenge the Firekeeper. Lautrec has two allies, both magic casters with a high amount of lethality.

However, it is only necessary to kill Lautrec himself, as him dying will immediately force his allies out of his world, giving the player the win.
5. Siegmeyer of Catarina has a long questline where he seems to get himself into quite a lot of hopelessly bad situations for the player to help him with. Where is he first met?

Answer: Sen's Fortress

The player will meet Siegmeyer right outside of the Fortress building itself if they approach the gate before figuring out how to unlock it. Siegmeyer will ask for help in unlocking the gate, achieved by ringing both Bells of Awakening. The player will then find him in the Fortress itself. Upon helping him here, he will show up in Anor Londo, Firelink Shrine, Blighttown and then Lost Izalith. If the player successfully aids him here, the last time he will be seen is at the Ash Lake, and if the player managed to help him survive this long, he will reward them with a highly valuable Titanite Slab, needed to max a weapon's upgrade level.
6. The Princess of Sunlight, Gwyneviere, can be interacted with after defeating Ornstein and Smough. However, it may not be immediately obvious, but the player's initial meeting with her isn't all what it seems to be. What type of trickery is in play here?

Answer: Gwyneviere is an illusion

The Gwyneviere seen at Anor Londo is an illusion conjured by Dark Sun Gwyndolin. The player can discover this if they attempt to strike her with any weapon or spell, instantly dispelling the illusion. Doing this will also have a negative consequence on Anor Londo, causing the sun to set and spawning a massive amount of Dark Spirits in Anor Londo. As well, the Firekeeper in Anor Londo will now be hostile towards the player and will attack them on sight. The Anor Londo Sentinels will also leave the city as well.

Perhaps it would be best to use ignorance as bliss and not attack her.
7. Similar to "Demon's Souls", a player looking to make an Intelligence based spell casting build has some Easter egg hunting to do. Specifically, they'll want to find a man by the name of Big Hat Logan. With a nickname like that, you'd figure he'd be easy to find, but he's actually initially locked in a floating cage inside a treacherous building. Where can he be found?

Answer: Sen's Fortress

Big Hat Logan will be stuck inside a cage floating over a black abyssal set of nothingness, certain death if fallen down. A patient player who opted to begin the game with the Master Key and hasn't used it yet can use it to free him. Otherwise, they'd need to venture towards the balcony of the Fortress, make a bold, difficult jump and retrieve the key not far from where Crestfallen Merchant is found.

They will briefly be able to access his services at Firelink Shrine afterward.
8. The player will likely want to upgrade their weapon as soon as they can in their play through. They'll find, however, that the earliest accessible option for this isn't at the Firelink Shrine. In what area can Andre of Astora be found?

Answer: Undead Parish

Andre can offer the player his services the moment they manage to locate him. He will also never move from his spot, so the player won't have to worry about tracking him down. He is capable of upgrading a regular weapon to +10 or using various colored Titanites to ascend it via infusion.

He will be very important, as he is the player's only way of obtaining a melee weapon infused with Holy in it, an element required to permanently kill skeletons outside and within the Catacombs.
9. Andre of Astora is useful, but there is one thing he isn't capable of- forging Boss Souls into weapons. That job belongs to a different blacksmith found within Anor Londo. Which character is capable of converting Boss Souls into weapons?

Answer: Giant Blacksmith

The Giant Blacksmith, with no known name, can convert any Boss Soul into a weapon so long as the player has an ascended regular weapon that's the same type as the Boss Weapon. For example, if the player wants to convert the Core of an Iron Golem into the Golem Axe, they must obtain an axe weapon of any kind at +10, then trade the axe and the Soul to Giant Blacksmith so that he may exchange them for the Golem Axe.
10. The aid of NPC blacksmiths extends into the game's DLC. Without this blacksmith's help, the player cannot do melee damage to Black Dragon Kalameet, so players seeking to defeat Kalameet using melee builds are required to interact with this blacksmith. Who is it?

Answer: Hawkeye Gough

The player must first visit the soon-to-be boss room where Kalameet will eventually be fought. Upon doing so, Kalameet will approach the player and attempt to bombard them with fire breath. Here, the player must simply leave the area, whereupon the game will allow them to report to Hawkeye Gough and tell him about Kalameet's presence in Oolacile. Once Gough is aware of Kalameet, he will aid the player by taking out his signature Gough's Greatbow and using it to shoot Kalameet down.

This will force Kalameet to the ground and allow the player to return and fight Kalameet properly.

This is also required if the player wanted to summon a friend to help them with the fight, as multiplayer isn't available until Kalameet has been grounded.
