Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first leg of the race had teams illuminating the Horseshoe Falls. From where did they receive a colour combination?

Answer: A haunted house

At the start of this tenth season of the race, the eleven teams participating were brought to where it all began back in the first season-- the Oakes Garden Theatre in Niagara Falls-- where they commenced another race across Canada for a cash prize. Instead of flying straight over to British Columbia, racers remained in Niagara for a leg, heading out on foot to rappel next to the Horseshoe Falls, play games on Clifton Hill, and eventually race to the Pit Stop at the Power Station next to the natural wonder.
2. Racers visited the Sunshine Coast in Leg 2. Which of these were some teams able to locate there?

Answer: Assist

Racers could have gotten Express Passes from an off-side task in Leg 2, but they did so by heading to Second Beach in Vancouver before taking a seaplane to Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. The Assist (from Desjardins), however, appeared at the Mise-En-Place Equestrian site in Roberts Creek, where Colin and Matt were able to use it to make their Road Block easier.

The Assist would appear in the first five legs of the race.
3. A shopping trip at the Granville Island Public Market awaited teams in Leg 3. What city did they visit?

Answer: Vancouver

When teams departed from the Sunshine Coast in Leg 3, they were sent to a few locations in the Vancouver/Richmond area. In the Granville Island Public Market, racers had to go on a shopping trip before delivering the goods to spots in and around Granville Island.

After this, racers had to learn a bit about mahjong at Parker Place before casting their votes at the U-Turn Vote board and heading to the airport.
4. At the SS Sicamous, in Leg 4, which team discovered that they were the recipient of the U-Turn Vote?

Answer: Kevin and Gurleen

Instead of stopping off at a Pit Stop at the end of Leg 3, racers proceeded directly to another leg in the Okanagan Valley for Leg 4, starting the day in front of the SS Sicamous to receive word of who would receive the U-Turn Vote (it was Kevin and Gurleen).

The couple subsequently U-Turned Julia and Olivia as well. After this, teams proceeded into tasks in and around the wine region. Both U-Turned teams survived the leg while Connor and John, struggling to stay out of the back of the pack for the previous legs, were eliminated.
5. Immediately after a Road Block at Mosaic Stadium in Leg 5, teams flew to Russell, a small town in what province?

Answer: Manitoba

Racers proceeded eastward to Saskatchewan in Leg 5, completing tasks in Regina for the first half of the day before completing a Road Block at Mosaic Stadium and signing up for flights to Jon Montgomery's hometown, Russell, Manitoba. There, racers solved a puzzle before completing a second Road Block to close out their leg, and father-daughter team Brad and Sam were eliminated by Jon and his mother, leaving the race at the halfway mark.
6. Racers had a view of the Old Mill in Elora, Ontario in Leg 6. While there, they encountered which of these on the race course?

Answer: Double Pass

Appearing for the first of two instances in Leg 6, the Blind Double Pass showed up on the Jack R. MacDonald Bridge in Elora, Ontario as teams raced around in and outside of Guelph. The second Pass showed up in Leg 8. For the rest of the leg, teams had to flip back and forth between physical tasks (including kayaking, climbing, and professional wrestling) and challenges that had them engaging with the local art community. Julia and Olivia, who placed first the previous leg, were eliminated this time around.
7. Though racers went through Trois-Rivières in Leg 7, they ended off the leg (with a keep-on-racing Pit Stop) in what nearby Quebec town?

Answer: Shawinigan

Heading into Quebec in Leg 7, racers spent most of the leg heading east to Trois-Rivières. In addition to the typical Detour and Road Block, the racers found their first Face Off of the race, going head to head in curling at one point in the leg. At the end of their race here, teams had to drive to the town of Shawinigan to find the Pit Stop atop the observation tower at La Cité de l'Énergie.

Although Taylor and Katie (who placed first in the previous leg) arrived last, they were told to keep on racing and met up with the other teams to head back to Montreal.
8. Racers ended Leg 8 on the Long Sault Parkway in Ontario. On which river was this located?

Answer: Saint Lawrence

Racers backtracked a bit to take in Leg 8, returning to Montreal before crossing the border back into Ontario and completing tasks in Cornwall (and the surrounding region). Facing the Switchback and a Double Pass, teams proceeded to the Glengarry Highland Games in Maxville for their Detour and paddled out into the Saint Lawrence on a clear-bottom kayak before heading to the Long Sault Parkway to hunt down Jon and their eighth Pit Stop.

Here, father-son team Michael and Amari were eliminated.
9. Leg 9 took place in and around what New Brunswick city?

Answer: Miramichi

Flying to the East Coast for a leg in Maritime Canada, teams encountered the Acadian city of Miramichi in Leg 9, racing for a spot in the finale as they headed out onto the Atlantic, learned new dances, investigated a crime scene, and practiced the Mi'kmaq language. Racers found the second Face Off of the race in Miramichi and, before heading to the Pit Stop, Michael and Tyson purposely took a penalty to avoid completing the final task.

They managed to check in at the Pit Stop less than five minutes before the final team, barely dodging elimination.
10. How many teams visited the final city of the race, Edmonton, as seen here?

Answer: Four

For the last leg of the race, teams returned to Canada's west, spending a day and evening (in sun and rain) completing tasks around Edmonton. Here, teams had to climb bridges, meet sports mascots, solve puzzles, learn aerial silk dancing, and recall the events of the ten legs of the race before finding the finish line.

There, at Commonwealth Stadium, Taylor and Katie became the second all-female team to win the grand prize of "The Amazing Race Canada".
