Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the start of Leg 9, racers had to hunt for a golden oyster in Neguac, located on which ocean?

Answer: Atlantic Ocean

Leaving Lamoureux Park in Cornwall, Ontario, racers had to start their penultimate leg by hopping into their vehicles and driving to the airport in Montreal, Quebec. From there, they needed to hop on a flight that would take them to Moncton, New Brunswick on Canada's east coast.

Outside the airport they'd find both their vehicles for the leg and the next clue sending them to the town of Neguac. It's there that they had to join the local fishermen in dealing with the plentiful oysters dredged up from the ocean. Searching through thirteen hundred oyster cages on the back of a personal watercraft, they had to find one of five golden oysters to trade for their next clue.
2. The ziplining Road Block completed by teams in Leg 9 required that they score how many points to continue racing?

Answer: Five

Once racers found their golden oysters they could head back to the shore and trade it for their Road Block clue. For this, the selected racer needed to enjoy a zipline sending them across French Port Cove in Miramichi. While riding the zipline, that racer would need to drop a ball in one of four floating targets in the cove, each of which had a different point value. Once they rode the zipline and scored enough balls for five points, they could get their next clue and keep on racing. Gurleen, Colin, Michael, Nicole, and Taylor were required to complete this Road Block in order to head into the final leg balanced with their partner's total.
3. The Face Off encountered in Leg 9 had teams completing a relay related to which profession in Miramichi?

Answer: Firefighter

Completing the Road Block, teams needed to drive themselves to the New Brunswick Community College to find the Firefighter Field Training Centre and the second of two Face Offs of the race. Here, teams went head to head in completing tasks in the heavy-duty FireFit Relay, going through a gauntlet of spraying down two pylons with a fire hose, putting out a fire with an extinguisher, and hauling a dummy on a stretcher.

The last team standing, Lauren and Nicole, needed to flip over an hourglass and run it down before they could continue racing.
4. The last Detour of the race, found in Leg 9, was a choice between 'Footwork' and 'Gumshoe'. Which task was finished by more teams?

Answer: 'Gumshoe'

Racing into Downtown Miramichi, racers had to choose one of two tasks for their final Detour.

In 'Footwork', they headed to Water Street to participate in a dance-related task, and while a Road Block in Manitoba had them learning a Ukrainian dance, this challenge, to be completed by both racers, had them learning both an Irish brush dance and a Filipino tinikling dance. Michael and Tyson and Lauren and Nicole completed this task.

In 'Gumshoe', racers remained at the Community College to investigate a faux crime scene, using their powers of deduction to solve the who, what, and when of a crime to get their next clue. Colin and Matt, Kevin and Gurleen, and Taylor and Katie all finished this challenge.
5. Which team was last to check in at the race's ninth Pit Stop, being eliminated in the race's penultimate leg?

Answer: Kevin and Gurleen

Once racers wrapped their Detours they had one last task to complete before the Pit Stop and it sent them to Metepenagiag Heritage Park in Red Bank, New Brunswick. There, one of the two racers from each team needed to learn the months of the year in Mi'kmaq while the other had to learn the English description for each. If they could recite all of them in order, they could drive back to Miramichi to find the Pit Stop at Middle Island's Irish Historical Park.

At the end of the leg, Lauren and Nicole technically landed on the mat in first place, winning their second leg of the race when Michael and Tyson took a two hour penalty (skipping out on the final Route Info task). This time, the sisters received a trip for two to Paris courtesy of Expedia (and $10,000 CAD of spending money).

It was Kevin and Gurleen, unable to get their Mi'kmaq pronunciations down and locate the Pit Stop, who checked in in last place, leaving four teams to head into the finale. They checked in less than five minutes after Michael and Tyson's penalty had elapsed.
6. The racer completing the first Road Block in Edmonton (in the final leg) had to collect which of these from under the High Level Bridge?

Answer: Puzzle pieces

Leaving Waterford Green in Miramichi, New Brunswick, racers embarked on their final leg by flying westward to Edmonton, Alberta. Upon landing, teams headed to Stantec Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Western Canada, and ascended to the top whereupon their keen eyesight (and a pair of binoculars) would be needed to locate their next route marker down at High Level Bridge.

It was there that teams found a Road Block, and one member of each pair had to climb up underneath the bridge to collect puzzle pieces themed around the film "Transformers One", then jump off a plank to get their next clue. Michael, Matt, Taylor, and Lauren completed this one.
7. Racers had to locate one of four Edmonton sports mascots for a delivery in Leg 10. Which was not amongst them?

Answer: Gritty

Once racers finished their first Road Block they needed to get into some team spirit by making their way to the International Mascot Corporation, collecting a unique prop, and delivering it to the Edmonton sports mascot it belongs to, somewhere on Whyte Avenue. Racers had to find Hunter (of the Oilers) River (of the Riverhawks), Louie (of the Oil Kings), or Spike (of the Elks) depending on what they picked up, and if they traded the item off correctly, they'd get another Road Block envelope.
8. Team members completing the final Road Block of the race learned a routine from which unique performers?

Answer: Aerialists

If racers finished with their mascot task they could 'find a loophole' for the last Road Block of the race. For this challenge, the racer who did not complete the bridge task had to visit the Butterdome at the University of Alberta and join dancers to learn an aerial silk routine. If Katie, Tyson, Colin, and Nicole properly performed the routine, they could get their next clue and drive to the RAD Torque Raceway.

At the raceway, teams had to complete a four-sized "Transformers One" puzzle (at long last), then change the tire of a race car to get their next clue.
9. The final memory task of the race, found at the Royal Alberta Museum, involved sorting which of these items?

Answer: Photo blocks

Once teams departed from the RAD Torque Raceway, they had to complete one last task waiting for them at the Royal Alberta Museum-- their memory challenge encompassing knowledge of all previous legs. Here, teams were given fifty blocks, each with zoomed in images representing events, clues, items, and challenges they encountered in all ten legs of the race. If racers could place all the blocks in their proper stacks and in the proper order, they could get their final clue and head to the finish line.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race Canada 10"?

Answer: Taylor and Katie

With their memory challenge done, racers received one final clue sending them to the race's finish line on the field at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium. If they could make it there first, they could with the first-ever 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV RS (one for each racer), a trip for two around the world from Expedia, and the $250,000 CAD grand prize as the tenth team to win "The Amazing Race Canada".

In the end, it was Taylor and Katie who arrived at the finish line at centerfield first, taking the grand prize and becoming the second all-female winners of the show after 16,000 kilometres of travel ending in their home city. They were followed by Colin and Matt in second, Michael and Tyson in third, and Lauren and Nicole in fourth overall
