Tigerstar orders all the Clan cats to leave the Dark Forest early because the senior warriors, the ones who are dead and live in the Dark Forest, are planning a meeting on how to attack. Most of the Clan cats have no idea that the Dark Forest is planning to attack the Clans. Mapleshade and Hawkfrost do not allow Ivypool to attend, so she eavesdrops where the meeting is held, and she knows the Place of No Stars well enough to sneak around there without getting caught. She is about to see the plans of attack that Brokenstar is drawing in the dirt when suddenly she is jolted awake by her sister, Dovewing. Dovewing, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, the three cats of the original prophecy, Firestar, and herself are the only ones that know Ivypool is going to the Dark Forest in her dreams to spy. She snaps at Dovewing and tells her she was doing something important, and Dovewing says that she normally does not like being in the Dark Forest, and woke her up because her fur was standing on end.
