The kids are off to the Nuclear Power Plant to learn about the... joys of Nuclear Power? Prior to the bus departing, Mrs Krabappel references a previous field trip to Springfield State Prison that ended badly, with Bart protesting that he "didn't unlock that door!".

Answer: Wendell

The incredibly pale Wendell has been known to vomit during every ride on the bus, and judging from his request for Bart to stop shaking the seat it seems he's already on the road to doing that again. It turns out that Wendell does manage to avoid vomiting on the bus ride itself, but when the bus stops, a congratulatory slap on the back from Bart is enough to make Wendall puke.

Answer: Smithers

Smithers is in charge of leading the students on the tour of the plant, including introducing the educational video with Smilin' Joe Fission. Due to a mistake in the colouring stage of the animation process Smithers was portrayed as African-American in this episode, the first he had appeared in. In all future episodes Smithers is depicted as Caucasian.

Answer: Sherri and Terri

Sherri and Terri are quick to inform Bart that their father thinks Homer is incompetent, a word that Bart doesn't understand. Homer ends up getting fired after releasing poisonous gas into the air, and after the supervisor has fired him, he looks up and waves to Sherri and Terri.

Answer: I.P. Freely

The first ever prank call in "The Simpsons" is one of the most memorable ones, "I.P. Freely". Moe's response is as angry and vicious as it would continue to be: "Listen to me you lousy bum! When I get a hold of you, you're dead! I swear I'm gonna slice your heart in half!"

Answer: Smashing Bart's piggy bank

Homer goes into Bart's room and breaks open his piggy bank in a last resort to get enough money to buy himself a beer. Not only are the contents of the pig not anywhere close enough to buy a beer, but his actions cause Homer to realise how low he has sunk and he makes a drastic decision...

Without meaning to be too depressing, here's a transcript of Homer's note in full: "Dear Family. I am an utter failure, and you'll be better off without me. By the time you read this, I will be in my watery grave. I can only leave you with the words my father gave me; Stand tall, have courage, and never give up. I only hope I can provide a better model in death than I did in life. Love, Homer J. Simpson".

It's hard to imagine "The Simpsons" touching such a raw subject as suicide but they did in the first season of the show.

Answer: A stop sign

After deciding to dedicate his life to ensure the safety of others, Homer abandons his plans of suicide and soon heads to a town meeting to put forward his plans for a stop sign on D Street and Twelfth. Rather than listen to Homer's long-winded reasoning, the councilmen have a quick vote and give Homer the stop sign he wanted.

Answer: Springfield Nuclear Power Plant

Homer heads back to the place where he was fired earlier in the episode and soon a gathering of his supporters are outside the plant. Homer points out that the plant cannot be safe as people like himself are working there.

Mr. Burns is so impressed with Homer's crusade for safety he offers him the job of safety inspector at the plant. Homer initially turns down the offer, but a big raise changes his mind. This remains Homer's "main" job for many seasons to come, although he has had many, MANY different jobs as well! Thanks for playing!
