Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. King County Sheriff's Deputy

Answer: Rick Grimes

Shane Walsh was also a King County Sheriff's Deputy, which is how he and Rick became friends.
2. Gym teacher

Answer: Negan

Perhaps Negan's background as a gym teacher explains his penchant for pep talks and his fondness for a sports-related weapon.
3. Drifter and worker of odd jobs

Answer: Daryl Dixon

In "30 Days Without An Accident," we learn that Zach has been trying to guess Daryl's pre-apocalypse job and is allowing himself just one guess per day. He settles on homicide detective when they're on a supply run, which causes Michonne to laugh. Eventually, Daryl confesses to Zach that he didn't have a steady job before the apocalypse. Rather, he just drifted around with Merle and did whatever Merle said they were doing that day.
4. U.S. Army medic

Answer: Bob Stookey

Bob's experience as an army medic equipped him with both firearms and medical training, and he is seen treating Glenn while he is sick with the flu.
5. Homemaker

Answer: Carol Peletier

Carol spent her pre-apocalyptic life raising Sophia and meeting her abusive husband Ed's demands. She learned some useful apocalyptic skills in the course of her work, however, and is seen ironing with a camp iron in her debut episode. She's also shown sewing and cooking throughout the TV series, in addition to the skills she later develops as a soldier, walker-slayer, and leader.
6. Farmhand and college student

Answer: Maggie Greene

Maggie grew up on the Greene family farm and helped her father work it for many years, though she also attended college. The show does not indicate whether she graduated, dropped out, or was still attending college at the time of the collapse.
7. Pizza delivery boy

Answer: Glenn Rhee

Daryl is impressed as Glenn hatches a step-by-step plan to recover a bag of guns from the walker-infested Atlanta streets. Daryl asks, "What did you do before all this?" Glenn replies, "Delivered pizzas. Why?" Glenn's pizza delivery job did, however, give him an intimate knowledge of the layout of Atlanta, which helps him to rescue Rick when he's stuck in a tank, get the guns, and generally get around.
8. Episcopalian rector

Answer: Father Gabriel Stokes

In the Episcopal church, a rector is a member of the clergy who has charge of a parish (a small district with its own church). Father Gabriel was an Episcopal priest when the apocalypse began. He locked his parishioners out of his church and lived off of the food that had recently been collected for a canned food drive.
9. Veterinarian and farmer

Answer: Hershel Greene

In addition to running the farm that had been in his family for 160 years, Hershel was also a veterinarian prior to the apocalypse. He passes some of his training along to Carol so she can serve as a medical assistant.
10. Psychiatrist

Answer: Dr. Denise Cloyd

Because of her anxiety, Denise had to give up her aspirations to become a surgeon in medical school, and she became a psychiatrist instead. In Alexandria, however, she ends up serving as the community's doctor, at least until she is shot through the eye by Dwight.
11. Firefighter

Answer: Sasha Williams

The actress who plays Sasha, Sonequa Martin-Green, confirmed on "The Talking Dead" that Sasha's job before the apocalypse was that of a firefighter. Sasha was raised by a strict disciplinarian father who was also a war veteran. Her brother, Tyreese, was, according to the actor who plays him, a former NFL football player.
12. Zookeeper and amateur theater actor

Answer: King Ezekiel

King Ezekiel's pet tiger, Shiva, was an exhibit in the zoo where he worked before the apocalypse. The tiger fell into the concrete moat in her enclosure, and Ezekiel treated her injured leg. She showed her gratitude through future loyalty toward Ezekiel.
13. Charity non-government organization worker

Answer: Aaron

Aaron worked for a charity non-government organization (NGO) delivering food and supplies to needy people in Liberia and the Niger River Delta. This probably taught him to negotiate with warlords and militias and made him a good choice as an ambassador and recruiter.
14. U.S. Army Sergeant

Answer: Abraham Ford

Abraham tells a story of being stranded with his comrades in the desert because a camel ate their transport keys. Eventually, the camel pooped them out, and they were able to return to their base.
15. Resident doctor

Answer: Siddiq

At the time of the collapse of society, Siddiq was a second-year emergency resident doctor. He reports that he performed three surgeries and no amputations. He eventually becomes Alexandria's doctor.
