ReBoot Trivia Questions

1. At Dot's Diner, the two Bobs were speaking to one another about their experiences in the Web. The viewer knows exactly what happened to Glitch-Bob. According to the other Bob, how did he survive the Web?

From Quiz
ReBoot 4.2.1: "My Two Bobs"

Answer: His guardian code shut him down and protected him from the Web.

The Bob that just arrived in Mainframe informed Glitch-Bob that he did not remember much about the Web because his icon must of shut him down to protect him from its ravages. Bob informed Glitch-Bob that the last thing he remembered was Megabyte launching him into the Web via the capsule seen at the end of season two. Glitch-Bob told Bob not to remind him of that incident.

2. Realizing that Mouse was infected by Daemon and also in possession of the firewall codes, Dot thought of a plan to at least delay Daemon's entry into Mainframe. What was the plan?

From Quiz ReBoot 4.1.4: "Sacrifice"

Answer: Dot had a second firewall put up over the original one.

When Dot's science team informed her that there was no way to break and reprogram Mouse's encryptions, Dot made the gutsy move to put up another firewall in front of the original. Meanwhile, little Enzo and his father, Wellman were playing catch. Wellman was actually surprised at how well Enzo took Wellman's null transformation.

3. The episode began with a flashback taking place at the guardian academy. Bob was still a cadet and he was to take part in a virus deletion with his female mentor, Dixon. What was the name of the virus that the two were scheduled to delete?

From Quiz ReBoot 4.1.3: "What's Love Got to Do with It"

Answer: Kilobyte

Already in his academy days, it was made clear that Bob was not someone who believed in deletion. He tried to talk with his mentor about how they didn't know the virus' story or the virus himself. The mentor told Bob that the virus was made by a user and it was programmed to destroy systems. She clearly did not sympathize on the level that Bob did.

4. The episode began with a rather comedic musical number sang by none other than Mike the TV. Based on how he was dressed and how he was singing, which now-deceased singer was Mike the TV essentially impersonating?

From Quiz ReBoot 4.1.2: "Cross Nodes"

Answer: James Brown

The episode "Cross Nodes" began with a church-choir-esque song, sung by Mike the TV. In the song, he was singing about Daemon and how great she was. Based on how he was dressed and the wig he was wearing, Mike bore an extreme resemblance to James Brown. James Brown was the great entertainer who sang such mega hits as "I Feel Good" and "Living in America". He passed away in 2006 at the age of 73.

5. The episode began with a look at Mainframe's past. Young versions of Dot, Enzo and Frisket were seen in front of the recently constructed Dot's Diner. A twin city of Mainframe was also seen. In the flashback, what happened to Mainframe's twin city?

From Quiz ReBoot 4.1.1: "Daemon Rising"

Answer: It blew up.

In the flashback sequence, Dot was seen trying to get her diner online in time. She was also slated to go to her father's presentation on Mainframe's twin city. Because she was running late, she could not be at the twin city. Before she could begin her's and Enzo's short journey to the twin city, the twin city detonated, completely destroying it and damaging a sizable chunk of the modern Mainframe. After the flashback sequence, Dot woke up from her sleep and realized that she was reliving that nightmare over and over again.

6. Sitting in Dot's Diner, Enzo was doing very little. Dot went inside and told Enzo that he did not go outside all day. Enzo told Dot that she's always busy, and Bob was always in games. As a result of his boredom, what was Enzo doing in Dot's Diner?

From Quiz ReBoot 2.6: "AndrAIa"

Answer: He was watching Mike the TV.

When Dot went inside, Enzo was obviously distressed at the absence of friends in Mainframe. Enzo was forbidden to go into games, so he could not even have fun with Bob. What Enzo wanted was a friend, but there was no-one in all of Mainframe who could be his friend. Enzo said that Bob must have been having the time of his life in the game. Within the game, a replay of the first ever game in "ReBoot", Bob was most certainly not having fun. His own team ended up activating a planetary bomb that threatened to delete them all. Luckily, they managed to escape and the user did not.

7. Three CPU guards were watching the Mainframe Archives when Hexadecimal arrived. She took care of them and took control of the paint program. What was it that Hexadecimal painted in Mainframe that alerted Bob to her crime?

From Quiz ReBoot 2.5: "Painted Windows"

Answer: The Sun

While the Mainframe Archives were invaded, Dot was leading a group exercise with some sprites in Mainframe. Bob was looking at a motorcycle that a person was trying to get him to use and replace his car with. As Bob was saying how his car was a classic, he looked up and saw a giant brush painting a Sun in the sky. Everyone was amazed by the spectacle, but Bob was not. He contacted Phong, who told him that Hexadecimal had invaded the Mainframe Archives, stole the paint program, and was using it from her lair via a direct link.

8. Realizing that they were at the mythic Funhouse, Bob and Dot rebooted. What did the two reboot as?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.13: "Identity Crisis Part 2"

Answer: Clowns

When he first saw The Funhouse, Bob thought that it could not be the real Funhouse. He rebooted anyways, and ended up becoming a clown with oversized red shoes. Dot, still depressed by the loss of the Mainframers' PIDs, was not too enthusiastic in rebooting. She also rebooted as a clown, but she did not have the motivation to even start the game.

9. While Bob and Enzo were playing birthday games, Dot was busy choosing the acts for Enzo's birthday show. She was behind schedule because a "Program Censor" was there to make sure everything was appropriate for children. What was the censor's name?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.11: "Talent Night"

Answer: Emma

The "Program Censor" in the episode was actually named after a lady who worked at the Board of Standards and Practices. She was one of the people who influenced what could and could not go into the show. Just for fun, the creators of the series decided to make a character with the same name do the same job in choosing the acts for Enzo's talent show.

10. The episode began at Old Man Pearson's data dump. There, Hack and Slash grabbed Pearson while Megabyte told him that he wanted an unformat command for his next evil plan. Before Megabyte's men could steal the command, what did they need to do?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.6: "In the Belly of the Beast"

Answer: They needed to locate it somewhere in the dump.

With Mr. Pearson in viral hands, Megabyte asked him if there was anything special for him at the dump. Mr. Pearson lied and said that there was nothing there for Megabyte. Megabyte knew about the unformat command hidden at the dump, so Megabyte knew that Pearson had lied to his face. With the hunt going on at the dump, Megabyte encouraged his men to locate it.

11. Enzo and Dot were getting ready to leave Dot's Diner and go on a picnic with Bob's recently restored car. Dot continuously delayed the trip because of what?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.4: "The Medusa Bug"

Answer: Her constant urge to work.

The episode began with dozens of advertising vid-windows flashing their messages to the patrons of Dot's Diner. Dot and Enzo were getting ready to leave but Dot wanted to make one last phone call. Enzo reminded her that she promised to go with Bob and Enzo and that she was the one who always told him to keep a promise. When Dot went outside, she was surprised that Bob's car ran at all. When Bob and Enzo briefly looked away and then looked back, Dot was back in the diner, making a telephone call. Before she could finish, Bob and Enzo grabbed her and tossed her into the back of the car.

12. The episode began with Megabyte trying one of his patented evil schemes. He was trying to destroy the system by using a special device powered by a magnet. Bob stopped it, but what did he do to stop it?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.3: "The Quick and the Fed"

Answer: Bob used his cutter on the machine and then took the magnet out.

As the episode began, Megabyte's new machine was pointing towards the sky. It powered up and then fired. Megabyte watched with excitement, holding his pet null, "Nibbles", at the same time. In season four, "Nibbles" turned out to be more than just a null, but we'll leave that for a later quiz. As Megabyte grew more excited at his impending success, Bob arrived and ruined the party. Bob took down Megabyte's virals, and then used his cutter to cut the circuitry on the device. Bob then extracted the magnet from it and put it into a secure case, using Glitch.

13. The episode started with Bob flying on his zip-board with Hack and Slash in hot pursuit. After Hack and Slash crashed into each other, Megabyte asked Bob to do him a favor. Bob refused for what reason?

From Quiz ReBoot 1.1: "The Tearing"

Answer: He doesn't do favors for slime.

With the "Board of Safety and Practices", or the BS&P, riding the backs of the "ReBoot" crew, the first and second seasons took on a very child-friendly tone.
