Aaron is played by Ross Marquand. Aaron makes his first appearance in season 5, episode 10, "Them." His boyfriend, Eric Raleigh, is first introduced to the audience in season 5, episode 11, "The Distance."

Prior to the apocalypse, Aaron worked for a charity NGO (non-government organization) providing supplies for people living in the Niger River Delta and Liberia. That's where he met his boyfriend Eric. This work also gave him some of the skills that would be useful in his work as a recruiter for the Alexandria Safe-Zone.

He also served as a soldier in the coalition of communities in their war against the Saviors and later the Whisperers. He was a councilmember for the Alexandria Safe-Zone, but not a governor of the Hilltop.

Answer: His mother forced him to eat it as part of his conversion therapy

When Aaron first encounters Rick's group to recruit them, he offers applesauce to a hungry Judith. Rick wants him to eat it first to prove it's not poison, but Aaron refuses. His mother, who was in his words "a very confused woman," used to force him to eat foods as part of his conversion therapy after he came out as homosexual. These foods included applesauce, onions, and salmon patties and were supposed to make him "more manly."

Answer: Vermont

Aaron was raised in Vermont, where he lived with his mother and younger brother. He initially moved to D.C. to become a politician but didn't like the environment and ended up joining a charity NGO instead. He did visit California on a camping trip once, where he saw Native American village ruins, but he's not from there. He was in D.C. when the apocalypse started.

Answer: License plates

While out recruiting for Alexandria, Aaron collected the plates in honor of his younger brother's love of cars. He had one from each of the fifty states and made a mural of them in his home in Alexandria, which he showed to Daryl.

In season 5, the group has taken refuge in a barn for the night during a storm. Sasha and Maggie emerge in the morning in "Them." They admire the sunrise. Aaron emerges and approaches them cautiously, talks with them, and asks to speak with Rick.

Answer: A wild horse

In "Forget," Aaron follows Daryl outside the gates because he senses Daryl is, somewhat like himself, an outsider who will have trouble fitting into Alexandria. Daryl allows him to join him on his hunt, and together they come across the wild horse, which Aaron says they've seen many times but never been able to capture.

The community children named the horse Buttons. Aaron and Daryl make an attempt to capture the horse together so it can be tamed and broken for the use of Alexandria, but they fail.

The horse ends up being devoured by walkers, and Daryl and Aaron put him out of his misery.

Aaron continues to reach out to the outsider Daryl by inviting him into his and Eric's home for dinner. Deana wasn't ready to give Daryl a job but wanted to observe him more first. Aaron invites Daryl into his garage, reveals a motorcycle he's been working on, and tells Daryl his job will be as a recruiter. Daryl will take Eric's place because Eric is retiring. Aaron needs a partner who can handle himself, and he also feels that Daryl can tell a good person from a bad person.

Answer: The Wolves

In the woods, they find a body ripped apart and a dead woman bound to a tree. She has the letter W carved into her forehead. When she reanimates as a walker, Daryl kills her. The men who did this will later invade Alexandria and begin killing people.

Answer: Morgan

In "Conquer," Aaron and Daryl are still on their recruiting mission when they have to escape a herd in a car. Surrounded, Daryl suggests he will make a run for the gate, essentially sacrificing himself for Aaron, but Aaron refuses. He says they'll do it together.

They're about to open the car doors when Morgan shows up, beating off the walkers with his staff. It soon becomes clear that Morgan knows Rick, and they take him back to Alexandria.

Answer: A houseboat

In "Hearts Still Beating," Rick and Aaron have to get through a lot of floaters on the water before they finally reach the houseboat. On the houseboat, they find a note that says, "Congrats for winning, but you still lose." Someone is also watching them.

Answer: Aaron participates in the raid on Oceanside to get their guns

The raid on Oceanside occurs in season 7, episode 15, "Something They Need." The Scavengers betrayal occurs in the next episode, "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life." Eric is killed in the raid on the Savior's outpost in season 8, episode 2, "The Damned," and he dies soon after. Enid shoots Natania before she can impale Aaron in season 8, episode 8, "How It's Gotta Be."

Answer: Saviors

While Aaron is sitting with blood on his hands after the death of Eric, Rick emerges from the Savior outpost with a crying, five-month-old infant. Rick shot the infant's father at the outpost, and it is unknown what happened to her mother. Aaron agrees to bring her back to Alexandria and eventually adopts her as his own. Her name is Gracie.

Answer: It's crushed beneath a giant log

While working on the bridge, one of the Saviors lets go of a log during a walker attack, and it crushes Aaron's arm. Daryl rescues him, but Enid is forced to amputate immediately. She consults her books while Daryl ties a tourniquet around Aaron's arm. He later makes weapons to attache to the stump.

Answer: Luke

Glenn is already dead and Rick has disappeared by the time of this episode. Luke has been injured and is unconscious, and Aaron drags him to safety in a sled he has hobbled together. This happens in season 10, episode 12, "Walk With Us."
