The gravestone consists of a giant cross with several angels. It is by far the most ornate in the cemetery, something Del is proud of. This underlines Del's continuing devotion to his mum.

Del: "When all the others crumble and fall into dust, that will stand forever. Do you know why? It's the only one in the entire cemetery made of fibreglass."
Rodney: "It's the only one in the entire cemetery that required planning permission."

Del breaks the news to Rodney that he is painting the takeaway while they are at the cemetery. He tells Rodney they are giving it a freshen up as the health inspector is due. Rodney doesn't want to do the job, but eventually agrees when Del offers to let him borrow his "dirty" books.

Del: "I remember what mum said to me on her death bed. She called over to her side and she said 'Del Boy, Del Boy'"
Rodney: "Stuttered did she?"

Del tells Rodney that their mum asked him to share everything he has with Rodney, and as such half of everything he has belongs to Rodney. When Rodney asks what would happen if Del had two Rolls Royces, Del claims he'd give Rodney the one with the sunshine roof. Rodney then asks what Del would do if he had £2million, and Del claims he'd give Rodney £1million, in cash.

Rodney: "What would you do if you had two of them deep sea diver's watches?"
Del: "Now you know I've got two of them deep sea diver's watches. Don't take bloody liberties with me."

When Del, Rodney and Granddad arrive at the takeaway to start working, the takeaway is closed for redecoration. Del has the keys and opens the door. After he enters, a black cat runs from the shop.

Del: "That's gonna please Mr Chin, innit?"
Rodney: "Was it his pet?"
Del: "No, but number 39's off the menu."

The tins are very small. There are no labels, either. Del has
"acquired" the paint for a knockdown price. When Granddad suggests cutting the brushes, it takes Del to tell them to pour the paint into a bigger pot.

Del does not initially know what colour the paint is. When Mr Chin, asks what colour the paint is, Rodney frantically tries to get the lid off one of the tins. As he tries to stall for time, Mr Chin suggests blue.

Del: "That is exactly what I thought...why not paint these walls a subtle shade of blue"
Mr Chin: "What shade of blue?"
Rodney: "Yellow."
Del: "And then I changed my mind."

Trigger arrives at Del's flat with some more paint, and mentions that they were almost caught. Rodney is unaware that the paint is stolen, and Trigger tells him the paint was taken from a storage shed. Trigger also tells them the paint is used to paint signs in tunnels.

It takes a while for this information to sink in, then they realise that the paint is luminous. Mr Chin then calls, wearing sunglasses due to the brightness. Del tells him the luminosity saves the need for electricity, and Mr Chin asks Del to paint his living room, too.

During the scene in the cemetery, Del had suggested adding some more decorations to the grave. He decides to give it a freshen up with the same paint used in the takeaway, but has not told anyone. When they discover the paint was luminous, Del is aghast, and takes Rodney and Granddad to look at the gravestone, which is glowing in the night.
