Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What drop do you get from Havel the Rock if you kill him?

Answer: Havel's Ring

Havel is known for his incredible strength, which is shown in the heavy armor that he wears, the heavy shield he carries, and the giant Dragon Tooth that he swings. If you can dispatch him, you get his nice ring that allows you to carry another 50% of your total carry weight when you wear it.
2. What is Solaire looking for throughout the game?

Answer: His own personal sun

Solaire is a Warrior of Sunlight and can be summoned throughout the game to help with certain boss fights, including the final boss, Gwyn, if you finish his storyline. If you don't complete his storyline, he turns hollow and attacks you, forcing you to kill him.
3. Once you leave the Undead Asylum, you can never return.

Answer: False

If you can find your way back to the Crow's nest at Firelink Shrine, he will transport you back to the Undead Asylum. There is a very beneficial ring to find there as well as a key to unlock another entire world, The Painted World of Ariamis.
4. What sorcerer is trapped in the cage hanging in Sen's Fortress?

Answer: Big Hat Logan

Once you rescue Big Hat, he returns to Firelink and sells advanced sorceries if your Intelligence is high enough. Later in the game, you find him trapped in another cage in the Duke's Archives.
5. What's the name of the thief who tries to get you to look over the ledge in The Tomb of Giants, claiming there's plenty of loot down there?

Answer: Patches the Hyena

Patches makes his second appearance in a game by FROM Software. He tried to pull the same trick in "Demons Souls", so most experienced players knew what he was up to in "Dark Souls".
6. If you are in human form while near the bonfire in Blighttown, what NPC invades your world, wielding a Butcher's Knife?

Answer: Maneater Mildred

Maneater Mildred is not very difficult to kill, and you can also summon her to help in the fight against Quelaag if you're in human form. Kirk invades in The Depths, Demon Ruins, and Lost Izalith. Laurentius ends up in the swamp, but it's not an invasion. Dusk is saved in the Darkroot Basin and sells sorceries.
7. What is the boss's name in The Painted World of Ariamis?

Answer: Priscilla the Crossbreed

Priscilla offers you the option of leaving without a fight, which is out of the ordinary for a boss battle. If attacked, she can render herself invisible and uses bleed attacks, so she can be a tough battle. If you happen to cut off her tail, it becomes a weapon called 'Priscilla's Dagger' which does bleed damage as well.
8. Who is the NPC that you can summon in the Catacombs to help fight Pinwheel?

Answer: Paladin Leeroy

If you make the correct blind leap, you can land on a ledge that contains Paladin Leeroy's summon sign, provided you are in human form. Not only will he jump down and kill those pesky pinwheel skeletons, he'll also heal himself before the Pinwheel boss fight.
9. Who appears at Firelink after you ring the two Bells of Awakening?

Answer: Kingseeker Frampt

Kingseeker Frampt, or the Primordial Serpent, appears near the Crow up the steps from the bonfire. You can offer him items that you no longer need in exchange for souls, but he doesn't sell items.
10. Who is the only boss in the game that is also a summonable character in a different boss battle?

Answer: Great Wolf Sif

Sif is summonable against Manus, the Father of Dark in the DLC content, if you find his resting place. He was placed in his resting place by his protector, Artorias of the Abyss and you receive the Cleansing Shield as a reward for finding him. Should you complete the Manus fight before you fight Sif, it leads to an extremely sad and emotional cut scene.
11. There are two NPCs that you can rescue by killing a gold golem.

Answer: True

In the Darkroot Basin, you save Dusk of Oolacile by killing the gold golem at the end of the cave. On your way to the Crystal Cave, you can save Sieglinde of Catarina by killing the gold golem in the courtyard area.
12. The Sunlight Maggot drains your health while wearing it.

Answer: False

The Sunlight Maggot emits a great deal of light, so it's a great helmet to wear in The Tomb of Giants. The Symbol of Avarice is a headpiece that drains your health.
13. What two boss battles can you summon Witch Beatrice for help with?

Answer: Moonlight Butterfly and Four Kings

Witch Beatrice 'hides' her summon sign, but if you find her, she's a great help against the Moonlight Butterfly. In fact, if you just avoid being hit by the Butterfly, Beatrice will kill her in just a few seconds. Bea isn't quite as helpful against the Four Kings, but if you use her in both fights, you can find her equipment later in the game and use it.
14. What item do you need to damage ghosts with normal weapons?

Answer: Transient Curse

You have to use one of these in order to damage the ghosts in New Londo Ruins with a normal weapon. There are also two weapons that will damage ghosts without using a Transient Curse: the Jagged Ghost Blade and the Cursed Greatsword of Artorias.
15. What ring breaks if you ever remove it?

Answer: Ring of Favor and Protection

This ring is dropped by Knight Lautrec of Carim when you kill him. It gives you a nice boost to your hit points, stamina, and endurance, so new players always tend to use it. But, it takes up one of two valuable ring slots, so it's a hard decision of when to take it off, because then it's gone until your next playthrough.
