Answer: A baby was kidnapped

You have to read the comic book that came with the game to get the backstory. Prince James of Albany hired Gabriel to protect his baby because he was afraid that, since he and his baby are descendants of Jesus, someone was going to kidnap the baby and use Jesus's descendant's power for their own good. Gabriel does his best to protect the baby, but then it gets late at night and Gabriel falls asleep.

The baby gets kidnapped and is seen as having two holes in its neck. Gabriel sees the kidnappers get on the train, so he gets on the train with him.

The kidnappers knock him out. When he wakes up, he's at Rennes-les-Chateau. A taxi driver takes him to the nearest hotel so he can get some rest.

Answer: Mosely

Gabriel goes to the cafeteria to get some coffee. Mosely is sitting at the table reading the newspaper. Mosely spots Gabriel and greets him. Both of them are shocked, so they both ask what each other was doing here. Neither of them get an answer right away. Gabriel answers Mosely in the next time segment. Mosely doesn't answer Gabriel until much later in the game.

Answer: The Holy Grail

Gabriel notices books in the window of the bookshop in French and English. The ones in English say "The Holy Grail". The ones in French say "San Greal". This interests Gabriel, as he thinks that's what the two men on the train said.

They are also supposed to be seeking the treasure. However, only one member of the tour group knows that the treasure is Jesus's body. The group as a whole does not know that.

Answer: Emilio Baza

Emilio Baza can be caught spying on Gabriel multiple times, such as when he calls Prince James on the phone and when he and Mosely are talking. Gabriel also sees Emilio exchanging rooms with Estelle and Lady Howard and although the women are getting the upgrade, it was Emilio who asked them to switch rooms with him. So Emilio chose to be in an inferior room that is next to Gabriel's room. That's suspicious.

Answer: Victorio Buccelli

Buccelli claims that he is only on the tour because he is interested in the history of the area. Later in the game, we learn the real reason that he is with the tour group.

Answer: Mary Magdalene

Gabriel, a devoted catholic, says that he doesn't see churches dedicated to Mary Magdalene very often. The priest tells Gabriel that Mary Magdalene is very important.

Answer: Mosely

The bikes are reserved for the tour group. There are six bikes and six members of the tour group. Fortunately, two of the members of the group are riding the same bike, but that leaves Gabriel with the worst bike in the lot, which he refuses to ride (although humorously he has to ride that bike later in the game). To get the bike he wants, he must pretend to be Mosely. That includes:

1. Stealing his passport
2. Stealing his yellow coat
3. Stealing the receptionist's pen so he can draw on the passport
4. Stealing a hat from the lost and found box at the museum (Mosely is bald, so Gabriel must hide his hair if he wants to pretend to be Mosely)
5. And the worst part... torturing a cat so that he can get some cat hair for a fake moustache.

The moustache hides the distinction between Mosely's face and Gabriel's, according to Gabriel.

This crazy plan works, although the moustache part is widely regarded as one of the worst adventure game puzzles ever.

Answer: Naples

Buccelli told Gabriel that he took a train from Naples. However, Gabriel goes to the train station and finds out that there is no train from Naples. He learns that there is a train from Rome, from which one passenger came, so he concludes Buccelli probably came from there.

Answer: Templars

Larry Chester tells Gabriel all about the Templars. According to him, the Templars found the treasure.

Answer: Two

Prince James sends two men and Grace around to Rennes-les-Chateau. Prince James hired the two men to take Gabriel's place in the case. However, Gabriel knows that the two men aren't trained to deal with vampires, so he continues working on the case anyway. He follows them around to two places to see what they are doing.

Answer: Freemasons

Gabriel follows Prince James's men to Larry Chester's house and spies on them. He sees each of the two men exchange a complicated handshake with Chester. He then repeats the handshake with Mosely, who tells him that it's masonic.

Answer: The Order

Prince James's men grab the Abbe and ask him where the baby is. The Abbe insists that "The Order" had nothing to do with the kidnapping.

Answer: Rennes-les-Bains

You do not have to go to Rennes-les-Bains at any point in the game to beat the game with a perfect score. The only reason to go there is if you didn't get all the license plates in the 2-4 PM and the 4-6 PM time segments, you can get Buccelli's license plate when you see him at Rennes-les-Bains with Wilkes. However, when I play the game, I always get all of the other license plates in the afternoon. If you do this, Gabriel is smart enough to deduce which bike Buccelli must have rented.

The only reason you should ever go to Rennes-les-Bains is if you want to check out the Easter eggs in the game.

Answer: Susan Silo

Susan Silo, who voiced Madame Cazanoux in "Gabriel Knight 1", voices museum curator Madame Girard and the woman at the train station in "Gabriel Knight 3". When I first played the game, I noticed the Madame Girard/Madame Cazanoux similarity immediately.

Although Grace and Mosely both appear in "Gabriel Knight 3", they are voiced by a different actor and a different actress than they were in "Gabriel Knight 1".

Answer: Jennifer Hale

If you think outside the box, this could make Madeline a huge suspect. This game is about vampires, and Jennifer Hale voiced the main vampire in "Quest For Glory 4". Gabriel is capable of breaking the fourth wall (he knows who Roger Wilco is), so he could suspect Madeline for this reason.
