Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jimbo and Chef had gone to the mayor to argue over changing the South Park flag. What did the flag depict?

Answer: white men hanging a black man

Chef objected to the flag on the basis of its obvious racism, but Jimbo wanted to preserve the flag for its historical merit. Clearly, the mayor had heard the arguments before and found the whole thing pretty bothersome.
2. The debate club had already had three debates, each pairing one side of an issue against Cartman. What was NOT the topic of one of these debates?

Answer: capital punishment

The teacher recapped, "I see that you've already had a lot of interesting debates this year. Pro-Choice vs. Cartman, Pro-Gun Control vs. Cartman, and People Against the Clubbing of Baby Seals vs. Cartman." Evidently, Cartman was the winner on record for each debate, though Kyle contended, "Cartman doesn't always win! He just gets pissed off and goes home so we can't debate anymore!"
3. Who were the debate leaders for the "Flag Should Stay the Way It Is" team?

Answer: Stan and Kyle

Wendy was horrified that Stan actually thought the flag should remain as it was and immediately volunteered herself to lead the opposite side. She ended up getting paired with Cartman against, who seemed more interested in facing off with Kyle and Stan than in the issue at hand!
4. What did Chef do in front of the mayor's office to protest the flag?

Answer: lit a monk on fire

Frustrated by the apathy of other South Park residents, Chef converted to Islam, changed his name, and staged a protest outside South Park City Hall. As Chef explained, "In the 1960s there was a monk who set himself on fire to protest! You have left me no choice! To protest your lack of humanity, I will now do the same thing!" Chef then doused a monk sitting next to him in gasoline and lit him on fire!
5. What snack did Cartman and Wendy bond over?

Answer: Double-Stuff Oreos

Cartman actually thought up a good argument for their side of the debate, likening the South Park flag to the swastika, which Germany rejected after WWII despite its long history in favor of something that could reshape the country's public image. Wendy then told Cartman that Double-Stuffed Oreos were her favorite and Cartman told her that he like to combine two cookies to make "Quadruple-Stuffs." Wendy exclaimed that she did the same thing, and the two kids were laughed together about their newfound commonality.
6. What item of business had to be taken care of at the KKK rally outside of town?

Answer: cake raffle

First, one of the members read the minutes from the previous week's meeting: "Last week we decided we hate blacks and Jews. A lot!" Then they moved on with the meeting and had their cake raffle! Jimbo and Ned looked on from the bushes, trying to figure out how to disassociate with the KKK so the organization wouldn't tarnish their side of the flag debate.
7. Who did Wendy have a poster of in her bathroom?

Answer: Russell Crowe

After a particularly vivid dream about frolicking in the grass with a shirtless Cartman, Wendy went to the bathroom to splash water on her face. As she left, the head of her Russell Crowe poster morphed into Cartman's image and called her name. Wendy was horrified to think she might be developing feelings for Cartman!
8. What advice did Bebe give Wendy concerning Cartman?

Answer: kiss him

Bebe advised Wendy to "act on impulse and get it over with". Wendy was shocked, so Bebe reiterated, "kiss him and get it out of your system". Later, at the debate, Wendy was unable to concentrate, so took Bebe's advice and laid a big one on Cartman. Having done so, she was able to concentrate perfectly, but Stan was thrown into turmoil and Cartman was too busy gloating to be of much use.
9. How did the mayor "fix" the flag?

Answer: added colors

The mayor revealed a new flag which had exactly the same design as before, except that the hangers now included a white man, a yellow man, a red man, and a black man. Stan didn't quite see how that solved the problem, so Kyle explained, "There's people of all colors. And they added a black guy as one of the hangers, too, so it's not racist." All the townsfolk (including Chef) agreed that the new flag was an improvement.
10. Did Wendy and Cartman decide to try dating each other?

Answer: no

Wendy, not realizing how Cartman felt, told him that after they kissed all of her feelings for him vanished. He pretended that he felt the same way and after he watched her head off to catch up with Stan, Cartman hung his head dejectedly and trudged off in the opposite direction.
